Have You Seen the Larger Featured Images at Etsy Yet?

April 22, 2018 by Robin, Avon Rep and Owner at Imperial Crochet

Over the last couple of days, I began seeing Etsy shops with one large featured image and some smaller ones off to the side of it and I was like, Hey!  How come my Etsy shop doesn’t look like that?

Since I don’t use a banner in my shop, I really like the way the large image stands out.

I started playing with my images but couldn’t for the life of me figure out what to click on to make the big picture happen.

So… I did some snooping on the forums and learned that if you have five featured items in your shop, you’ll get this great effect.  Previously I only had four starred.  If you have an Etsy shop, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.  If you don’t, don’t worry.  It really doesn’t matter.

I’m still not sure how to choose the first image (the larger one) but I suspect it’s because that was the first one I chose, but I’m not sure.  For me, it’s my booties and that’s the one I would have chosen as the largest image.

Anyway, stop by my shop, Imperial Crochet, to see what I’m talking about.

Making my baby boots.

Making my crocheted baby boots.

How about you?  Do you have an Etsy shop?  Have you noticed the new larger image display option?  Do you like the “BIG” featured photo option? Or will you keep the smaller images in your store?

Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.  I love hearing from my readers.

I am so disappointed that Etsy removed this new ability to feature 5 images with one really large. :{ So bummed….. I thought the ability to make one item much larger than the others was brilliant and made our shops look so much better and now Etsy took it away. Someone mentioned in the Etsy forums that there was a way to give feedback on this Etsy feature, that apparently turns out to be a test that they decided wasn’t worth it. Anyone where the link to leave feedback on that feature is?
